Why I built Readdit Later
I was barely a year into using Reddit when I noticed the same complaint everywhere: people save posts they genuinely want to learn from, then never find them again. Reddit's saved list is flat, unsearchable, and silently hides everything past the 1,000-item mark. Dozens of threads, all the same frustration.
I'd been building side projects and one of them was a general bookmark manager. It taught me the architecture, but the real gap was Reddit-specific: no tool treated your saves as a knowledge library you could search, organize, and actually learn from.
I did the research. Bookmark managers existed for Twitter and LinkedIn, but nothing for Reddit that felt like a clean, searchable library. Just basic tools with basic workflows.
